Nau-aib
Hi everyoneI thought I might put up another video or two from our trip. Both were filmed in Nau-aib, a township of Okahandja. We spent some time here, playing with the children in a soccer field, in a squatter's camp much like Vyf Rand - but different. Here also is where the band had one of there many performances; only this one was in a Revival Tent set up to be used as the church for the neighborhood.
Come sundown, like Pied Pipers with children trailing, we walked from the soccer field to the tent. The band began playing and it was just incredible. The first video is of the church choir who sang for us and those in attendance. What was pretty cool was that while they were singing, our only source of power for our single light...went out. But, not skipping a beat, the choir went on. The second video is of both the band and the choir singing "Higher, Higher" ... African style.
Here are the link for the videos.

As I was looking up how to correctly spell Nau-aib I came across a couple of blog sites and a site at flickr.com (not from our group but others who have been to Nau-aib and Namibia) that you all might find interesting reading and viewing; I found some of the images of Namibia to be outstanding. Here are the links for the blogs and picture gallery.
