Commissioning, Prayers and Safe Travels
As Darin mentioned in his post at http://ccnh.org/interactivesermon/, tomorrow will be the commissioning service for our group of 29 who will be heading to Namibia. Blessings to the three from the group who will share their reasons for going. I wish I could be there to listen. However, as I sit here in a hotel room in Panama City, Florida, I will not be able to attend the service. Thank you, in advance and in absentia, for keeping me in your prayers. While there may be others from the group who are not able to attend the service, I do know that Amanda Lafave will also be unable to attend. Please keep her, and any of the other team members who will not be at the commissioning, in your prayers and thoughts. On that note, I would like to begin a prayer request thread as an extension to the commissioning service. It is my hope that if any of the other 28 members of the Namibia G.O. Team 2006 has a particular request, he or she will post it here. Others, on our team - our families and friends who will remain here at home - feel free to also post any requests you may have.
For me, my prayer request is, "That I may listen and not just hear, understand and not just see - the experiences that lie beyond the boundaries of my world as I know it. I ask for the ability and the strength to reach out beyond my comfort zone and that through my actions and words and through the actions, music and words of each of my fellow team members, others will come to know God."
To Dave and Germaine, who leave on Monday - may you have safe travels and I'll see you in Namibia.
