New from Team Ondangwa
Monday morning was a chilly one and we packed up the van to make our 7 hour trek north. As we said our goodbyes to Joan and Deiter the rest of our team at large mysteriously dissappeared. As we approaced the gate everyone was at the gate to see us off! It was a special send off. Thanks team! Our trip north went quite well. We were warned by Dieter and Joan to watch for warthogs and other animals in the road. We did see a warthog only a few feet from the road and told it to stay. It kindly obeyed Jim's command. That wasn't the case for the goats, cattle and the dogs! They were being very rude!
The sunset was glorious as they usually are in Namibia. Although it made the driving a bit trickly because we were driving directly west. Nat, Nancy and Paula kept their eyes peeled for more animals so Jim could concentrate on the road... what he could see of it!
We arrived in Ondangwa as the sun was setting making it difficult to locate Saara and Boniface. We gave up after two drive by's and called the Fantasia Bed and Breakfast to locate it. Simeon our host drove out to meet us so we could follow him to the B & B. He and his wife made us a wonderful pasta dinner and we engaged them in a very lively discussion about the need for salvation and the beliefs of the Namibian people. It was very enlightening.
This morning we had a quick breakfast and called Boniface and he and Saara met us on the road so we could find their place.
We met the students and had a precious time of worship with them. We picked up peanut butter and jelly and bread and made sandwiches for lunch. The students sing wonderful! What a blessing.
We will be attending a worship service with them this evening. Tomorrow we will be with them for school in the morning and making bricks in the afternoon. Their buildings have come a long way. They do not have water on the property. They have filled out all required forms and paid the fees but the government is very slow and there is a lot of red tape. Please pray for a miracle that somehow the Lord will break through the politics and get their water hooked up.
That's all for now. Thanks for all your prayers.
