On our way...still
Loading up that Flightline van seems like ages ago, but it was only yesterday morning. It seems like way too long to only be in Frankfurt. We went into town today and exhausted ourselves walking around, enjoying the futbol hooligans from Brazil and France who have a match later tonight. Everytime they saw someone in the opposing colors they would burst into song and beat on drums and blow in noise makers. They had a huge screen TV in the middle of the river for those who weren’t able to get tickets to the game. It was quite an experience, let me tell you. (And for you parents’ sake, never once did we feel unsafe and everybody made it safe and sound back to the airport.) Team dynamics are really starting to unfold. Team members are already starting in on those ongoing conversations that will last through the whole trip. I’m convinced that when we finally land on Namibian soil tomorrow morning and breathe deep the African air things will be different. We haven’t really gotten into ministry mode yet. So far we’ve been hobos in the airports, tourists in Frankfurt, and tired travelers on the planes. My hope and prayer is that once we arrive and spend some time with Dieter and grab those little kids hands in Vyf Rand that we’ll click in with why we’re there. I have great confidence in our team, and an even greater confidence in our God who always uses our weakness for His ends. Ok, well I’ve gotta go wake up Krista so we can head to the gate…peace
