24 Hours & Counting

Can you believe that our departure is now only 24 hours away? It seems to me like just yesterday we were six months away. Here's an update on a few things as of this morning:

We are one hundred percent funded! Nothing like God's provision! The final dollars we were waiting on have rolled into the office, and the G.O. 29 of 2006 can now GO!

The band has managed to get all of their gear (22 road cases worth) packed in such a way as to meet the airlines weight and size restrictions. Sharon has managed to get names of the representatives of all three airlines that will be handling our flights and this equipment, which is no small feat. We have also received our Carnet Form from the U.S. Government, which should allow us to get all this equipment in and out of Namibia without having to pay Customs penalties.

We have managed to gather seven suitcases full of clothing and medicine to take over to our partners on the ground in Namibia. Note that we gathered more than seven suitcases worth, but with the equipment for the band, seven suitcases is our limit with the airlines. So, we are feverishly working to combine bags to get everything ready to go, and whatever is left will be shipped over at summer's end. For those who contributed items - THANK YOU!

As you've been reading, Germaine and Dave are already in Namibia and have been knocking off items on our Advance Task List. Email back from Germaine suggests that they have also been able to complete many of these transactions on budget thus far - and that is a huge thing.

So, here we go. Thanks for your ongoing prayer and support. Let's go to Africa!
