The Promise Of A New Day
Well, I woke up late this morning… 8:30ish… around here that’s late… everyone is gone & I really need to take a shower, but I have no towel. Sleeping was not the best for me last night either, I woke up twice in the middle of the night with difficulty trying to get back to sleep and I am not too sure what that was all about (and sleeping on the planes wasn’t the best either & that’s usually not an issue for me). Once I am able to take that shower I will be just fine.I also went to the internet café here in Okahandja yesterday afternoon & Johan was happy to see me. I told him I sent him an e-mail to let him know we were coming and he said that he received it but didn’t respond because I should’ve told him who I was (I guess saying that I was Germaine St Cyr from New Hampshire and I stay at the Morsbach’s wasn’t enough) He then proceeded to tell me that I should’ve just said that I was the really nice lady & he would’ve known right away… I thought that was pretty sweet. So, now you are wondering why if I went to the internet café I didn’t post again. Well, I got some e-mail out and then I wrote a post and it said that the posting was 0% posted for 5 minutes twice & it was past business hours & Dave was wiped… he slept the whole car ride from Windhoek to Okahandja… so, I decided to let Sylvia go home for the day and I stopped trying. I am not sure if it was a blogger issue or what, but I’ve had that happen in the states too so not to worry…
Yesterday was great for getting some errands taken care of… I am feeling like we are working well on the 2-page list we received. Richard had to get back to school and Dieter was at a Judea Harvest Pastor’s Conference so Dave & I were left at the Mall. We acquired the phones we needed to get as well as some power strips for the band. Then Dieter came and we hunted down generators, power adapters and extension cords. I think we’ve gotten some pretty good quotes for the generator & extension cords, Dieter is going to see if he can get some more negotiation on the generator. Then Dieter had a few more things to take care of, but Dave was spacing and Dieter sent us back to Mpampo. So, I had some time to get used to the Namibian Roads. Personally, I like driving Kombies better than little cars… maybe I feel that was because of my first experience last year driving a little car, I am not sure, but this one is newer so my thought is just the size and getting used to doing everything “backwards”.
So, now as I write this I am sitting in my room and I hear that a car just pulled up. Maybe I can get that shower and get to work on that list…
