Know Your Roots

Monday was a day to finish up some old tasks and to get some cleaning completed. When I came back from the internet cafe yesterday, the girls were cleaning cars and Kombies and the boys were attacking the rest of the tree and working on getting the stump out of the ground from the roots.

It was amazing to me watching the boys work together and seeing the team work. Usually in situations there is one leader in the pack, but they all seemed to work together nicely and when there was differing opinions they worked it all out. There was one time when they asked my opinion, my only response was "You are on the right track and making the right decisions"... there was no reason for me to interfere in what they were doing. They were a well oiled machine.... this stump is huge.... and they conquored it with manly determination. Checkout a couple of short video clips... Video 1, Video 2 (I am trying to upload more videos, but I keep loosing connection to the server when it gets about half way finished.... so keep your eyes out for when it finally works!!! Prayer would be nice too :-) as always)

In the afternoon, Darin's team arrived and we went with them to play in Vyf Rand. I mentioned before that the atmosphere is quite different in Vyf Rand... and I am not happy about it. I am not going to go into why this is my feeling, but I was speaking with Joan about it and she said that it was nice to hear the confirmation for the feelings that she had been having. There are many physical changes in Vyf Rand... electricity, phone lines, a school, plots have been moved and more organized... but the Spiritual side of life in Vyf Rand is going down... my heart breaks just thinking about it. I know that others think that they are doing good and God's will, but I do not see the fruit... I see increased begging and entitlement... the people need to learn how to fish, not how to beg.

I think that is why God has brought us into "Tin Town" on this journey... to learn that there is a need to focus and love all God's people and not the corruption of one community.
